What are antique wooden boats generally worth?
Q. I have about 20 or so wooden boats that I know are at least 50+ years old with also some small metal boats...is there any site I could check out to see what they are worth?

A. They might be worth a lot if they are culturally significant, or hand built by a famous designer like Joel White etc. - and are in museum condition. Sadly most people only look at old wooden boats as hard work, with some justification. I would contact the Wooden Boat Association and advertise in Wooden Boat magazine - that's where the hard core wooden boat nuts hang out.

What is a good, cheap temporary fix for an old rotten wooden boat?
Q. My husband was given a boat last year, the motor runs great, but the boat is rotting and leaks like crazy. We were thinking fiberglassing the seams, but that is kinda pricey and we don't really have the extra needed to do that. So, my question is does anyone know of a decent temporary fix that is also fairly inexpensive?

A. A leaking wooden boat can be trouble. it may need to be rescrewed and recaulked. wooden boats need to stay in the water to swell up. keep it in the water all the time. it takes time for it to swell up. the rot must be removed and replaced. dryrot is tricky. there is a product called getrot sold on the market that works for small areas. TRY IT.
