GNU Free Documentation License How did civil right move from a Republican issue in the 60s to a Democrat issue today? Q. Since figures such as Martin Luther King were life long Republicans and prominant Democrats voted against the civil rights act such as JFK. How did the issue move and what contributed to the Acorn-ization of the issue in the process for good or bad? Asked by whirlingmerc - Sat Jan 23 10:58:20 2010 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments A. Civil Rights of the sixties is not the same animal it is today! In the 60's it was to create equality for all people, today it has become a mechanism for the left to keep people poor and increase their voter base. Think about it, virtually every liberal policy concerning Civil Rights does nothing but tell minorities and poor people that they cannot succeed with out help, in affect telling them they are lessor and therefore not equal. The biggest difference in groups like the KKK and the left is that the KKK is open in their efforts to keep minorities down and the left does it covertly under the guise of helping. Answered by warren v - Sat Jan 23 11:15:28 2010 How did the civil war divide the country? Q. How did the civil war war divide the country politically, socially, morally, and geographically? Also, do you think we could have resolved the differences without war and could we have found freedom another way? Asked by AnoymonousJay - Sun Mar 2 22:24:17 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. politically: it split all the parties. E.g. suppose to be democrats v. republicans but it became northern democrats w/ northern republicans v. southern dems and repub. moral: north: free slaves, evertone equal, south: keep slaves, slave inferior geographically: Confederacy v Union, Alabama, South Carolina, etc. seceded from U.S. No way. The war was not just, are slaves equal? It was about economics. The Southerners needed free labor for cotton production. Without them, the plantations would fail and they would be bankrupt. so Southerners needed slaves for survival. Was not simply a moral issue for more, go to hope this helped. Answered by Meow* - Sun Mar 2 22:38:59 2008 What chance of temp civil service job becoming permanent?
Q. I applied for a job with civil service that was listed as a temp position possibly for a term up to two years. During my interview (my first with civil service) I was told the temp position could possibly become permanent. I declined the position as it did not include any insurance or retirement benefits, but am now wondering if I did the wrong thing. Any civil service employees reading this, is it common for temp positions to become permenent or do they just say that to lure qualified applicants to fill slots? This was a position that was originally performed by military personel but is being transferred to civilian employees at least for the time being. Asked by drvndrm2 - Mon Sep 3 05:51:53 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. That one is hard because I'm in a Temp job but I had permanent status before I started. It depends on the department and where the money is coming from. It really depends on where the job is, and if the job has potential to become permanent. Sometimes you have to look at the big picture. I moved from California to Washington for a term position. I know it'll be permanent because of what they are trying to accomplish. I was already a permanent government employee and worked in this type of job for years. It's worth it in the long run because of the experience and you'd at least get your foot in the door. It depends on you. Answered by for7949 - Tue Sep 4 03:12:09 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "civil" Amy Winehouse, ex-husband cosy up in Camden
