Does a proxy servor block screenshots?
Q. I am a college student and my mom put censorware on my computer. I need to function. I can't even access simple bioligy websites. She refuses to uninstall it. I manage to get around it with a proxy servor. Do proxy servors stop screenshots though?
Asked by marcu8877 - Tue Oct 14 20:48:51 2008 - - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Proxy servers just relay data through servers to hide your IP and information with it. The censorware is a local program and intercepts packets when it enters your computer through the internet. So no, proxy servers do not have anything to do with what happens on your computer, it only has to do with what happens in the internet space.

Why is BESS censorware so strict?
Q. I can understand the schools trying to block things like games, music sites, and myspace but I think things have gone too far now. Some religious sites, art sites like deviant art, and even some political sites are blocked by this thing that is supposed to be protecting our eyes and keeping us on track. I was extremely mad the day I found out that recreational sites that can teach you haw to make and draw things are blocked. It was madness. I hate how strict that annoying dog is. Is there even a reason it's gotten so strict?

A. well I dont know what school your talking about, but they are probably trying to protect themselves from over protective parents that would get upset or maybe a lawsuit. A school is not a public place and can do what they want. luckily we are in the USA and can go home or somwhere else and access it. There are place in the world that block much more, even if your in your own home. The internet is a really free place right now and wont always be like this, restrictions, taxes are a sure thing all governments love to make rules. It never well end. They make more and more laws everyday. Just be glad your as free as you are for now.
