I'm graduating from a tech school and I want to change my major to business finance!?
Q. I've got a problem. I'll have an associates degree to design electrical distribution systems which is what I also do at work currently. I'm burnt out and bored with it. I'm almost 20 and I've figured out I want to look into getting a business degree in finance and get into banking and/or the stock market. What path should you take for something like this. I'll have to work for at least another year to pay off my current school loans but in the mean time should I take night classes to get started on my bachelors degree in business? Also, are the starting salaries/ opportunities good for this type of career?

A. yes and yes. I would say go for it now while you can. If you wait chances are you wont. It is great that you found out now that you're ready for a career change some people don't figure this out until 20 years of working unhappily. You need toget a finance degree from an accredited university. Try to stay away from the online degrees they're not held high with most employers. The question about opportunities and pay is too general to give specifics. The pay overall is great in the financial industry- some defintely better than others- but you have time to figure out what area you want to go in to. My friend has a Bachelor degree in business finance?
Q. She is so depressed, because she says she can not find a job, tho she has put in many resumes and applications. We live in a small town...is this a hard degree to find employment with?

From my own personal experience, since I have a Finance degree and have been enjoying a successful career in banking for over 2 years now, your friend definitely needs to look beyond her small town if she wants to find good employment. Don't get me wrong, there's probably jobs in her small town, but it'll be so narrow that even if she finds a financial job there she probably still won't be happy. I happen to live in a fairly sized metropolitan city and have had no problem finding jobs. In fact I recently switched jobs after receiving better offers from not one but two other companies who were wanting me within their financial organizations. The Finance degree definitely should open doors for her. But it also depends on your friends… [cont.]

is it enough,18hrs per week for a business finance sophmore student?
Q. according to the plan, so i can graduate in 3 years , my college gave me 18hours per week each semester , and honestly it feels like nothing ? is that normal ? or my university's curriculum is week? should i change it ? and plus do u think i should go for marketing finance or economics as a major?
