Travel is the movement of people between relatively distant geographical locations for any purpose and any duration, with or without any means of transport. Travel also includes relatively short stays between successive movements. Movements between locations requiring only a few minutes are not considered as travel. As an activity, "travel" also covers all the activities performed during a travel (movement).

Travel may be local, regional, national (domestic) or international. In some countries, non-local internal travel may require an internal passport, while international travel typically requires a passport and visa.

Travel can be for recreational purposes, for tourism, to visit people, for business or for commuting, and may occur for numerous other reasons, such as to obtain health care, migration, fleeing war, etc. Travel may occur by human-powered transport such as walking or bicycling, or with vehicles, such as airplanes, private transport, public transport, automobiles and trains.

A round trip is a particular type of travel whereby a person moves from his/her usual residence to one or several locations and returns. A trip can also be part of a round trip.

A. Are you referring to the size and weight of your luggage or what you can pack? If you are referring to size and weight, each airline sets its own policy and it may be different for an international flight than it is for a domestic flight. You will have to check the website of the airline that you're flying to determine this. Many airlines now charge for a second checked bag and a few charge for all checked bags. You will also find that information on the airline website. Prohibited items in checked baggage can also be found at the airline website. Prohibited items in carry-on luggage can be found at the TSA website by following this link:

Q. Hi Im wanting to start a membership Travel Agency on line. I would like to know where the Tour Operators get their warehouse holidays in order to make a profit. Is there a software or website that the travel agents use were they get the holidays at a flat rate, factory (warehouse) price. Obviously the travel agent gets the holidays from somewhere and then put their own mark up on.

A. You will envitibly fail with no knowledge, ATOL or Abta bonded operation. Consider home working first. Look at Travel Counsellors or Hays Travel. Even then you would need some background knowledge. To set up a website with none of the above, nobody will touch you with a barge pole. Sorry to e frank, but you could potentially lose lots of 's

What are the pros and cons of using a travel agent to plan a vacation to Brazil?
Q. Hello Everyone! My girlfriend wants to travel to Brazil next year for carnival, and would like to use a travel agent to plan our arrangements, while I would much rather plan everything on my own using the internet as a primary resource. Could anyone tell me the benefits and negative aspects of using a travel agent to plan a vacation of this type? Also, I would really appreciate it if anyone who recently traveled to Rio De Janiero could share some opinions and perhaps "insider" tips on traveling to this destination. Thank you.

A. Hello, I can give you some tips, first of all, you really don't need to use a travel agent to come here. Everything here is very cheap. The people normally don't speak English, but you will fell welcome in almost places you go. Try to search another place to go, Rio de Janeiro is the most dangerous town in our country. Recife is a very Beautiful place and it has a famous carnival parade, "o galo da madrugada". Where there are almost 2 million people walking, dancing and singing trough the streets for 3 miles. The beaches around this town are marvelous. "Porto de Galinhas"..."Tamandare".. ."Boa Viagem"...You will apreciate. Good luck and be wellcome.
