Q. If I want to connect a DVD player digitally, would I need two separate cables? For example, an HDMI cable for video and a digital coax cable for audio? So will I get the full digital surround sound experience by connecting an upscaling DVD player (with HDMI output) and an HD DVR (also with HDMI output) to my Denon AVR-588 receiver? Then using the receiver's HDMI output to connect to the TV and using the receiver's speakers terminals for the surround sound? Asked by Danny S - Thu Jun 5 22:57:51 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. It depends on your devices, especially your receiver. And now I know that your receiver is Denon AVR- 588 Which just supported HDMI pass through. It means you need to connect a optical or a coaxial from DVD ( any devices ) to receiver to get surround sound. HDMI carries audio and video only on receivers called HDMI switching or HDMI repeater. Answered by BANG P - Fri Jun 6 01:05:29 2008 Which digital camera is best for recording video?
Q. I'm ready to buy a digital camera but I would like to get an opinion from the masses. Heres the scenario...I ride a sport bike and I plan on mounting a digital/video camera to my bike while I ride. The video length needs to be longer than just 30 seconds. I also want good quality picture capabilities as well. I'm hoping to spend no more than $275. Any suggestions? Asked by Motorpsycho - Mon Oct 16 21:43:36 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you buy a digital camera that also shoots 'video'...then make sure it has a resolution of at least 640X480 at 30fps...and also records audio. Canon is a very good brand that takes high quality 'video'. The newer ones can record 1GB at a time (about 8 minutes)...and others have no limitations except for the memory card you are using (up to 4 GB). Obviously digicams can not compete with dedicated video cameras (handycams) for video quality...so keep that in mind. Frankly, I do not know how a digicam will handle the 'rough treatment' while connected to a sport bike, but good luck anyway.
