1950s Memorabilia Answers

How long have all cars in the UK been left-hand drive?
Q. I'm looking on the net, e-bay etc for a poster or a bit of memorabilia of a Triumph TR2 for a present for my dad who owned one in the 1950s. But all the quaint adverts etc have a picture with a bloke (of course) driving in the left-hand seat. Are these all from American mags or what? I want to buy him a bit of nostalgia, but not if it's a picture of Yanks driving a TR2 - he'd kill me!

A. Hi, There is a nice photo of the 1954 Triumph TR2 Roadster that you could copy/save, and print out here Also check out the sites below. Good Luck in finding that special pix for your dad.

Where can I buy a 1950s style Libery Bodice?
Q. I asked this question yesterday in the Fashion category and got no response. I know this is a long shot but I appreciate any help. My sister is 60th next year and I'm putting together a memorabilia pack but I can't find a stockist of liberty bodices. Does anyone know of maybe a little old fashioned fashion shop which may still have one in the back room or has anyone got one tucked away in their attic they no longer want.

A. I am sorry I can't help you, but you did take me back talking about liberty bodices. They had little rubber buttons. My mum used to make me wear one way back then. There was a family-run clothes shop in the town where I grew up and they sold all that type of stuff. Cherub vests etc. I doubt you will be able to get one nowadays unless you look online. Good luck.
